Bank of Maldives has formalised a three-year partnership with the Football Association of Maldives, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to the development of football across the country.
The sponsorship agreement was signed today at an official ceremony by Mohamed Shareef, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Bank of Maldives, and Ahmed Thoriq, President of FAM.
Under the agreement, Bank of Maldives becomes the exclusive sponsor of the Maldives national Senior Men’s team, Senior Women’s team, and Youth teams, ensuring sustained financial and institutional backing for all major national football programmes.
Speaking at the signing, Mohamed Shareef said the partnership reflects the bank’s broader role in nation-building through sport. He noted that continued investment in national teams is central to nurturing talent, strengthening competitive performance, and inspiring young athletes across the Maldives.
FAM President Ahmed Thoriq welcomed the renewed collaboration, describing it as a strong vote of confidence in the association’s reform and development agenda. He said the partnership would directly support national teams while also contributing to the wider revival of football infrastructure and grassroots pathways nationwide.
Bank of Maldives has maintained a long history of cooperation with the Football Association of Maldives, positioning itself as one of the most consistent corporate supporters of national sports development. The renewed agreement signals continuity, stability, and a shared objective to elevate Maldivian football on regional and international stages.
