BML and American Express launch ‘Experience Maldives’ with exclusive perks for luxury travelers

Bank of Maldives (BML) and American Express have launched the latest edition of their flagship travel initiative, Experience Maldives, a two-year destination campaign designed to offer exclusive benefits to American Express Card Members.

The campaign, supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI), Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC), and the National Boating Association of Maldives (NBAM), provides curated privileges across a range of resorts, liveaboards, and merchants nationwide.

Exclusive Perks for Premium Travelers

Card Members can access discounts of 10–30% on spa treatments, beach dining, and water activities, in addition to complimentary perks such as floating breakfasts, room upgrades, and unique cultural experiences. The initiative aims to deliver luxury, tailor-made getaways that highlight both the Maldives’ natural beauty and cultural heritage.

Mohamed Shareef, CEO and Managing Director of BML, emphasized the value of the collaboration:

This initiative will enhance the travel experience of American Express Card Members by offering curated privileges that showcase the Maldives’ natural beauty and rich culture, while also elevating the destination’s appeal among premium and discerning travellers”.

Divya Jain, Vice President & General Manager of Global Network Services for American Express in Asia and South Pacific Growth Markets, highlighted the Maldives’ reputation among luxury travelers:

This is the fourth edition of Experience Maldives, following earlier rollouts in 2017, 2019, and 2023. Previous campaigns have successfully attracted premium visitors by offering exclusive access, preferential rates, and distinctive experiences that reinforce the Maldives’ status as a top-tier luxury destination.
