In a strategic move to bolster financial services in Addu City, Bank of Maldives (BML) has unveiled a new US Dollar ATM at its Hithadhoo Branch. This addition offers residents and businesses round-the-clock access to USD deposits and withdrawals, alongside other self-service banking features.
The Hithadhoo Branch now hosts three ATMs: the newly introduced USD ATM, one dedicated to self-service banking, and another for cash withdrawals. This expansion aligns with BML’s commitment to enhancing banking convenience across the nation.
Mohamed Shareef, BML’s CEO and Managing Director, emphasized the significance of this development, stating, “The inauguration of the USD ATM demonstrates our dedication to meeting the growing demand for USD deposits and withdrawals in Addu City. With the recent change of our Gan Branch to a dedicated Islamic Banking branch, alongside our expanded ATM network and digital services, we are strategically strengthening our presence in Addu City.”
This initiative is part of BML’s broader strategy to reinforce its position as the Maldives’ leading financial institution. The bank’s extensive network now includes 39 branches across all 20 atolls, 95 self-service banking centres, 151 ATMs, comprehensive agent banking services, and advanced digital banking solutions. These efforts underscore BML’s commitment to supporting communities nationwide through innovative banking solutions and enhanced service accessibility.
The recent rebranding of the Gan Branch into a dedicated Islamic Banking branch further exemplifies BML’s dedication to diversifying its services to meet the varied needs of its clientele. This transformation aligns with the bank’s “Islamic Finance First” policy, aiming to provide Shariah-compliant banking solutions to its customers.
As BML continues to expand its footprint, the introduction of the USD ATM in Hithadhoo is poised to significantly benefit the local community, offering greater flexibility and convenience in managing their financial transactions.
