Design the Future of Digital Finance: MMA Opens Payment Maldives Logo Contest

By Ahmed Ashraf Published October 2, 2025

The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has announced a nationwide logo design competition for Payment Maldives, a new entity tasked with overseeing the country’s core payment infrastructure and advancing digital financial innovation.

According to the central bank, Payment Maldives is being established to strengthen secure, inclusive, and innovative financial services that empower consumers, enable business growth, and accelerate the nation’s transition toward a digital economy.

The contest invites designers to submit original and creative logo concepts that capture the institution’s mission and long-term vision. The winning entry will be adopted as the official corporate identity of Payment Maldives, with the designer receiving a cash prize of MVR 30,000.

Entries must be submitted via email to [email protected] before October 16, 2025, at 14:00 hrs. Registration details and further guidelines are available on the MMA’s official website.

To ensure a fair process, the MMA has stated that judging will be conducted anonymously, with no identifying details attached to submissions.

The launch of Payment Maldives marks a significant step in modernising the country’s financial ecosystem. Industry experts note that robust payment infrastructure is essential for the Maldives as it seeks to strengthen financial inclusion, improve cross-border transaction efficiency, and support the government’s broader digital transformation agenda.
