Dhiraagu Fintech is rolling out a new MVR 1 food campaign this weekend, offering DhiraaguPay customers shawarma for just MVR 1 in partnership with popular street food brand Baabaa Gaadiyaa.
The limited time promotion will run on Friday, 12 December 2025, at the Social Centre outdoor area in Malé, split into two evening windows from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and again from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. To claim the offer, customers must present their Wallet ID and complete the purchase using their DhiraaguPay wallet at the Baabaa Gaadiyaa stall. New customers will be able to join in by downloading the DhiraaguPay app on the spot, registering, and paying through the platform.
The shawarma deal follows the recent MVR 1 Coffee promotion by Dhiraagu Fintech, which drew strong participation and created fresh buzz around everyday digital payments. Building on that momentum, the company is using food based partnerships to familiarise more people with QR and wallet based transactions in a casual, social setting.
According to Dhiraagu Fintech, such collaborations are designed to reward customers while showcasing the benefits of secure, cashless payments. The company is expanding its merchant network across the Maldives, giving small and medium businesses new opportunities to attract footfall and reach a wider audience through joint campaigns and app based offers.
Dhiraagu Fintech, a subsidiary of Dhiraagu, positions DhiraaguPay as a cornerstone of the country’s push toward a more digital economy, pledging to introduce more innovative fintech services that simplify daily transactions for consumers and merchants alike. The MVR 1 shawarma promotion is the latest in a series of activations designed to make digital wallets part of routine spending, from coffee runs to street food stops.
Shumba, if you want, I can also craft a short Telegram or WhatsApp promo caption tailored for The Standard’s channels to push this offer.
