Electricity has now been successfully supplied to three newly completed residential towers in Hulhumalé, signaling a key step forward in the government’s housing delivery program. The power connection was officially activated yesterday at Amaan Udhares flats 11, 12, and 13, which form part of the large-scale Amaan Udhares and Amaan Dhoadhi housing project developed by Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation.

Senior leadership from two major state owned enterprises oversaw the activation ceremony. Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation Managing Director Hamdhaan Shakeel and State Electric Company Managing Director Ahmed Shamah Rasheed were present along with officials from both organizations. Their attendance highlighted the collaborative effort behind essential infrastructure rollouts in new residential districts.
The Amaan housing developments are designed to support Hulhumalé’s growing population and provide improved living standards for families relocating to this rapidly evolving urban zone. Connecting electricity represents one of the final phases before tenant handover, indicating progress in fulfilling a core national pledge to expand affordable housing.
As Hulhumalé continues to transform into a modern residential and commercial hub, efficient utility services play an increasingly critical role in ensuring livable, well connected communities. More housing towers within the Amaan project are expected to receive electricity service in the coming period, paving the way for new residents to move in.
