Maldives Gas has confirmed that recent disruptions in cooking gas distribution have been fully resolved, assuring households nationwide of uninterrupted access as the holy month of Ramadan approaches.
In a statement to the media, Managing Director of Maldives Gas, Abdulla Mohamed, announced that gas stocks have been replenished and distribution channels restored. He emphasized that, effective immediately, customers can obtain all cylinder sizes without delay or limitation.
“Cooking gas will be available without any difficulties moving forward,” Abdulla said. “We guarantee that throughout Ramadan, supply will remain steady and accessible, as it has in the past.”
The assurance comes at a critical time. Demand for liquefied petroleum gas typically surges during Ramadan, as families prepare daily iftar and suhoor meals. In previous years, even minor logistical setbacks have led to public concern due to the heightened consumption during the fasting month.
Government authorities have been closely coordinating with suppliers to prevent shortages, reinforcing stock levels and strengthening distribution networks across the Greater Malé region and the atolls. The proactive replenishment of reserves signals a broader effort to stabilize essential commodity supply chains ahead of peak seasonal demand.
With stocks secured and logistics normalized, households can now prepare for Ramadan with confidence, backed by firm guarantees from the country’s primary gas provider.
