Global and National Top Scorers Honoured at High Achievers’ Ceremony Attended by President Muizzu

By Ahmed Ashraf Published June 23, 2025

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu attended the fifth session of the High Achievers’ Award 2024 at the Maldives Centre for Social Education, where exceptional academic performances in the 2023 and 2024 national Secondary (O‑Level) and Higher Secondary (A‑Level) examinations were recognised.

In this prestigious ceremony, President Muizzu, as Guest of Honour, personally presented the Outstanding Pearson Learner Award to two students who earned global top positions in Higher Secondary examinations. Additionally, he awarded 57 Secondary students who achieved first-place rankings internationally, and honoured 21 national top‑ten performers at the O‑Level. Eleven outstanding A‑Level students, who ranked first nationwide, also received scholarship letters and Presidential Scholarships.

The fifth session is part of a broader five-session initiative designed to celebrate approximately 1,800 top-performing students across the Maldives. The awards highlight achievers who attained national top-ten status or international recognition in their examinations.

President Muizzu’s attendance at this event underscores his administration’s dedication to elevating education standards. He reaffirmed commitments to strengthening academic foundations, enhancing teacher development, and expanding access to higher education and vocational training across the country.

The High Achievers’ Award series, spanning five sessions and running from June 21–22, continues to serve as a national celebration of academic excellence. It reinforces the government’s broader strategy to empower Maldivian youth and position them for both national success and global competitiveness.
