Several Meta applications are experiencing outages, affecting a large number of users. Currently, Facebook, Instagram, and Threads are failing to load and are displaying error messages upon attempts to access them. Numerous reports on platforms like Bluesky, X, and Reddit confirm that a significant number of users are encountering similar issues.
Facebook has acknowledged the problem with a message stating, “We’re working on getting this fixed as soon as we can.” According to Downdetector, there has been a sharp increase in reports of disruptions for Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram. For instance, the Instagram Downdetector page has logged over 70,000 issue reports, highlighting the extensive reach of the problem. Similarly, more than 100,000 reports have been filed concerning Facebook.
Meta has yet to respond to requests for comment regarding the situation. This substantial outage occurs in the wake of another significant disruption in March that affected Facebook, Instagram, and Threads. Additionally, Meta experienced a notable outage impacting Instagram and Facebook in October 2022.
