Hawks Hotels Introduces Ruble Payments for Russian Guests Through Click Pay Partnership

By Ahmed Ashraf Published 2 hours ago

Hawks Hotels has launched a new payment solution allowing Russian guests to pay for hotel services directly in Russian rubles through a partnership with Click Pay.

The initiative enables travelers to settle payments using Russian bank cards for accommodation, excursions, spa services, dining, and other activities at Hawks Hotels properties located on Kamadhoo Island in Baa Atoll.

According to the company, the system is designed to simplify transactions for Russian travelers by removing the need for currency conversion or alternative payment arrangements.

Guests can complete payments by requesting a Click Pay payment link from the hotel reception. After receiving the link, they scan the QR code and proceed with the transaction using their Russian bank card. The system displays the final amount in rubles, including the applicable exchange rate, before confirming the payment.

Fathuhulla Naseer, Head of Commercial Development at Hawks Hotels, said the partnership reflects the hotel group’s commitment to improving convenience for international guests.

“At Hawks Hotels, we continuously look for ways to make travel more convenient and seamless for our guests. Through our partnership with Click Pay, we are introducing a ruble payment solution that provides greater flexibility for guests who prefer to pay using Russian bank cards. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to improving accessibility and enhancing the overall guest experience,” he said.

Russian tourists remain one of the Maldives’ key tourism markets, regularly ranking among the top contributors to visitor arrivals. Tourism operators across the country have increasingly explored alternative payment solutions to accommodate guests from markets facing banking restrictions or international payment limitations.

Hawks Hotels stated that the new ruble payment option is part of its broader strategy to enhance guest convenience while strengthening its appeal to international travelers visiting the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
