The Hotelier Maldives Awards 2025, presented by Bestbuy Maldives (BBM), has concluded its nomination phase with an impressive tally of over 450 entries, surpassing the previous year’s count of 300.
Launched in 2024, the awards aim to honor exceptional professionals in the Maldives’ booming tourism and hospitality sectors. The inaugural event garnered significant attention, with 100,000 public votes cast in support of the nominees.
Building on this momentum, the 2025 edition introduces four new categories to acknowledge a broader spectrum of industry contributors:
- Watersports Personality of the Year
- Diving Personality of the Year
- Airport Representative of the Year
- Resort Manager of the Year
These additions ensure that the diverse roles essential to the Maldives’ tourism success receive due recognition.
An independent panel of judges will review the compiled shortlist from February 20 to March 10. The evaluation process will combine judges’ assessments (60%) and public votes (40%) to determine the winners. Finalists will be announced online, with public voting open from March 20 to April 20.
The awards will culminate in a gala ceremony in May 2025, celebrating the outstanding achievements of the Maldives’ hospitality professionals.
