Housing Ministry Faces Data Crisis After Devastating Fire

In the wake of a perilous fire that erupted yesterday at M. Green Building, where the Housing Ministry was based, the risk of losing all ministry data has surged dramatically. Dr. Ali Haidar Ahmed, the Minister of Housing, Land and Urban Development, revealed that the ministry’s server suffered extensive damage, severely limiting access possibilities.

During a media interview, Dr. Haidar confirmed that the fire has led to the loss of all documents and data within the ministry. Current assessments indicate that salvaging the server is unlikely.

Dr. Haidar emphasized the magnitude of this loss, stating, “If that’s the case, it’s a huge loss. We’ve lost all the information we had. A lot of employee information and information about all the projects we were working on would have been stored on the server.”

He further expressed concern that without access to the server, retrieving any information would be impossible, marking a substantial setback due to the incineration of crucial documents.

Alongside the Housing Ministry, other departments housed in M. Green Building suffered heavy losses from the blaze. The Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Climate Change, Environment and Energy have also been rendered inoperable. The Land Building and Vital Services Department of Male’ City Council experienced significant impacts as well.
