Maldives’ biggest gaming festival, Ooredoo Nation Gamers Land, has concluded successfully, bringing together gaming enthusiasts, esports athletes, and pop culture fans for an action-packed experience.

Held at Usfasgandu in Malé City, the festival wrapped up with a highly anticipated cosplay competition, where participants showcased their creativity by dressing up as their favorite gaming and anime characters. The winners were selected based on the execution of their costumes and performances.

The event was graced by Sports Minister Abdulla Rafiu as the chief guest, who commended Ooredoo Nation’s efforts in fostering a thriving esports and gaming culture in the Maldives.

One of the festival’s major highlights was the crowning of The Ultimate Player, a prestigious title awarded to the best gamer of the year. After intense competition, Haisham Waheed emerged victorious, claiming the title and a cash prize of MVR 30,000.

With a total prize pool of MVR 240,000, the festival also recognized MVPs, awarding them MVR 5,000 each for their outstanding performances. In addition, accolades were presented for Best Caster of the Year and Best Console Gaming Community of the Year.

Ooredoo Nation, an initiative launched by Ooredoo to promote gaming and esports, has played a crucial role in providing national and international opportunities for gamers. This year’s festival followed the success of its inaugural edition last year, further solidifying its position as a key platform for the gaming community in the Maldives.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Minister Rafiu praised Ooredoo Maldives for its commitment to empowering gamers, stating that such initiatives contribute to the development of esports as a recognized and competitive field in the country.

Ooredoo Maldives reaffirmed its dedication to the gaming community, stating that Ooredoo Nation will continue to create more opportunities for players to compete, connect, and succeed in the ever-evolving digital landscape.
