Maldives Esports Rising — Aiman Tops Ooredoo EAFC 2025 Tournament

Ooredoo Nation has wrapped up the 2025 edition of its EAFC Elite Showdown, crowning Mohamed Aiman as champion after a day of fierce competition at the telecom company’s headquarters in Hulhumalé.

The esports tournament brought together 24 skilled players in a single-elimination format, each battling for a share of the MVR 10,000 prize pool. Aiman claimed the top spot and secured MVR 5,000, followed by Abdulla Maahil, who placed second with MVR 3,000, and Mohamed Zameel, who earned MVR 2,000 for finishing third.

Government and Industry Support

The closing ceremony drew participation from officials of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment and the Racing Association of the Maldives, underscoring the growing recognition of esports as a legitimate sporting discipline in the country.

A Glimpse into the Future

To conclude the evening, Aiman and Zameel returned to the stage for an exhibition match on EA Sports FC 26, giving attendees a preview of the next-generation football gaming experience that is set to fuel upcoming esports competitions.
