Maldives’ Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, has arrived in Geneva, Switzerland, to lead the Maldivian delegation at the 58th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council.
In a post on X, Minister Khaleel stated that he would be delivering remarks at the High-level General Debate and participating in several key discussions. He also expressed his eagerness to engage with fellow delegates attending the session.

The 58th Session of the UN Human Rights Council is taking place from February 24 to March 4. The Council, an intergovernmental body within the UN, is responsible for promoting and protecting human rights worldwide, addressing violations, and making recommendations. With 47 member states, the forum serves as a platform for discussions on global human rights issues.
The Maldives currently holds a seat on the Human Rights Council, with its ongoing term set to conclude in 2025.
