In a bold move to redefine destination marketing, Visit Maldives is set to unveil its inaugural ‘Maldivian Night’ during the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2025 in Dubai. This immersive cultural showcase aims to transport attendees into the heart of Maldivian heritage, blending traditional artistry with contemporary flair.
Scheduled for April 28 to May 1 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, ATM 2025 has been designated as the Maldives’ premier international tourism fair for the year, surpassing the longstanding ITB Berlin. The shift underscores a strategic emphasis on the Middle Eastern market, leveraging Dubai’s accessibility and regional influence.
The ‘Maldivian Night’ will be hosted at the Theatre of Digital Art (TODA) in Dubai, renowned for its 360-degree immersive experiences. Guests can anticipate a sensory journey beneath the Indian Ocean, featuring oceanic visuals and sounds that narrate Maldivian tales and legends.
Highlights of the evening include a fusion of traditional and modern Maldivian dance performances, a curated culinary experience blending local ingredients with global flavors, and a live performance by Skyrock, one of the Maldives’ most beloved bands.
“This is more than just a showcase—it is an invitation to feel the Maldives,” stated Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO of Visit Maldives. “We are bringing our stories, flavors, music, and spirit to Dubai, in a way that truly immerses the audience. Maldivian Night is a new chapter in how we present our destination to the world.”
The event also marks a broader initiative by the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) to reimagine destination marketing through storytelling and cultural immersion. By prioritizing ATM Dubai, MMPRC aims to connect emotionally with audiences and foster deeper engagement with the Maldives’ rich cultural tapestry.
With over 230 Maldivian representatives and 111 exhibitors participating, the Maldives’ presence at ATM 2025 signifies a concerted effort to showcase the nation’s tourism offerings and cultural heritage on a global stage.
As the Maldives continues to innovate in its tourism strategies, events like ‘Maldivian Night’ exemplify the nation’s commitment to offering authentic and immersive experiences that resonate with travelers worldwide.
