Maldives Wins Big on Tripadvisor 2026, #21 Worldwide, #3 Honeymoon, #8 Asia

By Ahmed Ashraf Published 5 hours ago

The Maldives has once again strengthened its reputation as one of the world’s most coveted luxury escapes after earning multiple prestigious placements in Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards: Best of the Best Destinations 2026.

According to Tripadvisor’s newly released 2026 destination rankings, the Maldives placed 21st among the world’s top destinations, highlighting continued global admiration for the country’s iconic white-sand islands, turquoise lagoons, and high-end resort experiences.

In another major recognition for romance tourism, the Maldives also ranked 3rd in the world for Best Honeymoon Destinations 2026, reinforcing its status as a leading choice for couples seeking privacy, overwater villas, and unforgettable once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

Regionally, the destination further impressed by securing a spot in Tripadvisor’s Top Destinations in Asia for 2026, ranking 8th among Asia’s most celebrated travel hotspots.

Tripadvisor’s Best of the Best recognition is based on millions of traveller reviews and ratings collected over a 12-month period, reflecting real visitor satisfaction and global travel demand across a competitive international field.

As the Maldives continues to dominate global travel conversations, credit is also due to the Visit Maldives Corporation, whose sustained international promotions, branding strategy, and tourism marketing efforts have helped maintain strong global visibility for the destination. Their leadership, particularly the Chairman Abdulla Ghiyas Riyaz, deserve recognition for driving the Maldives’ continued rise in the world’s most influential travel rankings.
