The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a travel advisory urging all citizens heading to Thailand to comply with a new immigration requirement set to take effect on May 1, 2025. Under the updated Thai immigration rules, all incoming travelers must now submit a Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) prior to their journey.
This new protocol, introduced by Thai authorities, mandates passengers to complete the digital form within three days before departure. The card can be accessed and filled online via Thailand Immigration’s official platform: https://tdac.immigration.go.th/arrival-card/#/home.
Despite the procedural update, the Maldivian Foreign Ministry clarified that there has been no alteration to the existing visa arrangements between the two nations. Maldivian passport holders will continue to enjoy the 90-day entry visa facility granted under current agreements.
In its public notice, the Ministry emphasized the importance of adhering to local regulations when traveling abroad, stating, “We remind all travelers to respect the laws of the host country.” Officials also encouraged early preparation to avoid any disruptions upon arrival in Thailand.
Thailand remains a popular travel destination for Maldivians, and the new digital requirement is part of the country’s broader effort to modernize immigration procedures and streamline passenger processing.
Travelers are strongly advised to complete the digital card ahead of their departure to ensure a smooth entry experience at Thai ports of entry.
For further updates, travelers are encouraged to monitor announcements from both the Maldives Foreign Ministry and Thai immigration authorities.
