The Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) participated in Fishermen’s Day celebration events held in Raa Atoll Dhuvaafaru, joining community activities organised to mark the national occasion.

As part of the celebrations, a half-day fishing competition was held yesterday with the participation of 10 teams, bringing together local fishermen in a friendly contest that underscored the cultural and economic significance of the fishing industry.

MWSC also engaged families and children by setting up a dedicated children’s stall during the evening programme, contributing to a festive and inclusive environment for younger participants.

Fishermen’s Day events in Dhuvaafaru saw the involvement of government institutions and community groups, reflecting a collective effort to recognise and celebrate the vital role fishermen play in the Maldives.
