Ooredoo Maldives has introduced a new feature called “Karaa Quest” as part of its popular seasonal digital game #OoredooKaraaFelhun, adding an interactive layer that allows participants to explore their surroundings while competing to earn points for their teams.
The new feature transforms the game into a location-based experience where players can view watermelons — locally known as karaa — placed across a digital map based on their real-world location. Participants can move around different areas, locate these watermelons, and “slice” them through the game interface to collect points.
Once a watermelon is sliced, the location is marked with the flag of the player’s team, symbolizing that the area has been claimed. Each successful slice contributes to the team’s overall score in the competition. By continuing to explore and capture more locations on the map, players can help boost their team’s ranking and push them closer to victory.
The addition of Karaa Quest brings a new level of exploration and strategy to the #OoredooKaraaFelhun experience. The feature encourages participants to actively move around their communities while engaging in friendly competition with friends, family members, and other players across the Maldives.
#OoredooKaraaFelhun has grown into a popular digital activity during Ramadan, combining entertainment, competition, and rewards for customers nationwide.
Players can take part in Karaa Quest directly through the Ooredoo mobile application. Through the app, participants can join teams, slice watermelons on the interactive map, accumulate points, and compete for a chance to win prizes.
Ooredoo Maldives said initiatives such as Karaa Quest are part of the company’s continued efforts to introduce innovative digital experiences that connect communities and support its broader vision of building a Digital Maldives.
