Ooredoo Maldives successfully wrapped up the K. Huraa Masrace on August 22, marking another milestone in the company’s 20th anniversary celebrations. The event drew 19 teams to the turquoise waters surrounding K. Huraa, blending competition, tradition, and community spirit in one of the nation’s most anticipated fishing tournaments.
Winners and Prizes
Team Baakee emerged as the overall champion, securing first place with an impressive 544.5 points and taking home the grand prize of MVR 25,000. Second place went to Team Nora with 489.8 points, earning MVR 10,000, while Team Anantara clinched third with 370 points and a prize of MVR 5,000.
In addition to the top rankings, standout individual performances were recognized through special awards:
- Heaviest Catch: Malaaz of Team Anantara landed a 20.6 kg Faana (8 bar).
- Best Fisherman: Ziyad from Club MTCC, who reeled in 36 fish, won a PIO Ultimate Sea Spirit/Gangster (H/D) rod, sponsored by Hai Fishing.
- Best Fisherwoman: Ameena from STELCO Kanbalun caught 7 fish, earning the same premium rod sponsored by Hai Fishing.
