Pakistan’s top military chief meets President Muizzu to deepen bilateral ties

Pakistan’s Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, paid a courtesy call on His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on Thursday at the President’s Office.

During the meeting, President Muizzu extended a warm welcome to General Mirza, acknowledging Pakistan’s longstanding diplomatic relations with the Maldives. The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation and exploring potential areas of mutual interest between the two nations.

Both leaders reaffirmed the importance of maintaining constructive engagement while prioritising Maldives’ national interests and regional stability. The meeting concluded with a shared understanding to continue dialogue and cooperation based on mutual respect and sovereign equality.
