The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) has appointed Sabeeha Ahmed of B. Eydhafushi as a new Executive Board Member of Visit Maldives Corporation, signalling a strategic reinforcement of senior leadership amid growing global competition in tourism.
Sabeeha currently holds the role of Chief Operating Officer at Visit Maldives. Her professional journey underpins the appointment: she began her career as a Sales Administrator with the Jumeirah Group, then moved to Fairmont Maldives, Sirru Fen Fushi where she served as Sales Executive and subsequently as Sales Manager. She later joined Crown & Champa Resorts as Sales & Marketing Manager, and in March 2022 became Sales Manager at Hilton Hotels & Resorts, later advancing to Senior Sales Manager.
The move places Sabeeha in a key position to support Visit Maldives’s mission to attract more than 1.8 million annual tourists and bolster the Maldives’ status as a premium destination across Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Her strong track-record in hotel sales and marketing aligns with the corporation’s push to deepen global partnerships, boost digital promotion and champion sustainable tourism growth.
With the appointment, PCB continues its initiative to strengthen governance and oversight of state-linked entities, aligning management talent with national development goals. The addition of Sabeeha Ahmed to the Executive Board is expected to offer fresh momentum in strategic oversight, stakeholder engagement and operational execution for Visit Maldives.
