PNC Membership Soars Past 70,000 as Public Confidence in President Muizzu Grows

By Ahmed Ashraf Published 2 hours ago

The ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) is witnessing an unprecedented surge in membership, driven primarily by strong public trust and confidence in President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, according to Parliamentary Group Leader Ibrahim Falah.

Speaking on the growing momentum within the party, Falah, who also serves as the PNC’s appointed campaign manager for the upcoming Local Council Elections and the Member of Parliament for the Inguraidhoo constituency, stated that a significant number of Maldivians are choosing to align themselves with the PNC because they believe in President Muizzu’s leadership and vision for the country.

Falah revealed that the party currently has more than 70,000 registered members and is on track to surpass 75,000 in the coming days, as new applications continue to pour in. He emphasized that the rise in membership has been particularly strong ahead of the council election primaries, reflecting growing grassroots enthusiasm and political engagement across constituencies.

According to Falah, thousands of membership forms are presently being processed at the party office, underscoring what he described as a nationwide movement of support for the ruling party. He contrasted the current figures with the situation when President Muizzu assumed leadership of the PNC, noting that the party then had only around 3,000 registered members.

Since President Muizzu took the helm, Falah said, the party’s official registry has expanded dramatically, now exceeding 70,000 members. He attributed this transformation to public confidence in the President’s governance, leadership style, and commitment to national development.

The rapid growth in PNC membership is being widely viewed as a strong indicator of political consolidation ahead of the Local Council Elections, positioning the party as a dominant force with expanding grassroots support throughout the Maldives.
