Based on information received by Police Counter Narcotics Intelligence, two individuals have been arrested in an operation conducted in Male’ after searching a house in Henveiru.
In this operation conducted jointly by Police Drug Enforcement and Counter Narcotics Intelligence, Patti Vithanage Vimosha Vinathage (27) and Nurukshan Kavinda Singapurage (21) were arrested. Both individuals are Sri Lankan nationals.
During the operation carried out on December 5th, when the house they were living in was searched under a court warrant, 500ml 116 bottles and six 5 liters bottles of a substance believed to be alcohol were found.
The two individuals arrested in connection with this case have been handed over to Immigration for deportation.
Police are continuing to investigate this case further.
