President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has successfully completed a two-day visit to islands in Kaafu and Alifu Alifu Atolls, as part of his ongoing efforts to engage with local communities and address development priorities.
During the trip, President Muizzu held discussions with residents, local councils, and Women’s Development Committees (WDCs), focusing on the unique challenges and developmental aspirations of each island. He also toured key facilities, including health centers and schools, to assess their condition and better understand the infrastructural needs of the communities.
This visit is part of President Muizzu’s broader goal to personally meet with all island councils in the Maldives. Since assuming office, he has prioritized direct engagement with local communities as a cornerstone of his administration’s approach to governance. With the completion of his latest trip, the President has now engaged with representatives from 185 councils across the country.
President Muizzu was accompanied by a high-level delegation during the visit, underscoring the administration’s commitment to involving key government figures in understanding and addressing local concerns.
Earlier in the year, the President reiterated his pledge to ensure that every Maldivian community is given a voice in shaping its future. These ongoing tours reflect his promise to maintain open lines of communication with the people and work collaboratively on initiatives that drive sustainable development and enhance public services.
The President’s visits to Kaafu and Alifu Alifu Atolls mark another milestone in his administration’s commitment to fostering community-centered development and strengthening ties between the government and its citizens.
