President Muizzu Confirms April Completion for Giraavaru Falhu Reclamation Project

By Ahmed Ashraf Published 4 hours ago

Land reclamation at Giraavaru Falhu is advancing at a steady pace and is on track for completion by April, according to an update shared by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.

In a social media post, the President confirmed that work on the project continues daily, reflecting sustained progress in one of the government’s flagship housing initiatives. He expressed confidence that the reclamation phase will be finalized within the month, marking a significant milestone in the development timeline.

Authorities are expected to commence detailed land surveys immediately after the completion of reclamation. These surveys will pave the way for the formal allocation process, with the government indicating that the handover of land plots is scheduled to begin in June.

The Giraavaru Falhu project is a central component of the administration’s broader efforts to address housing demand in the Greater Malé region. Once completed, the reclaimed land is expected to support large-scale residential development and ease urban congestion in the capital.

The latest update underscores the government’s push to accelerate infrastructure delivery, with Giraavaru Falhu emerging as a key project aimed at translating development pledges into tangible outcomes within a defined timeframe.
