The diplomatic relationship between the Maldives and China was officially established on October 14, 1972. Over the past five decades, both countries have engaged in various collaborative endeavors, including significant infrastructure projects like the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge, which opened in 2018. This bridge stands as a testament to the enduring partnership between the two nations.
