President Dr Mohamed Muizzu will meet residents of Vilimale tonight at 20:30 at Muhyiddin School, marking the launch of his planned community consultations across the Male region. The gathering is open to all Vilimale residents, with the government inviting wide public participation.
The meeting follows the President’s recent announcement to hold closer, more frequent engagements with the capital’s communities. He made the pledge during the ceremony celebrating the completion of his first two years in office, where he highlighted the importance of hearing public views directly as part of his administration’s development agenda.
President Muizzu noted that over the past two years he has visited every atoll, meeting councils, Women’s Development Committees and senior island administrators. He described those sessions as highly productive, generating recommendations that have already shaped national policy. He said the same consultative approach will now be brought to Male, covering its four districts along with Villingili and both phases of Hulhumale.
He also affirmed that the government will begin targeted meetings with small and medium sized enterprises, and with businesses led by women and youth. These engagements aim to strengthen economic inclusion while addressing the specific challenges faced by emerging entrepreneurs.
Tonight’s meeting in Vilimale signals the beginning of this wider outreach effort, designed to improve policy making through community level dialogue.
