President Dr Mohamed Muizzu today participated in the Maldives–Germany Business Roundtable in Berlin, marking a key engagement aimed at strengthening economic cooperation and expanding investment linkages between the Maldives and Germany.

The roundtable was organised by the Asia-Pacific Committee of German Business and brought together senior representatives from Germany’s business and investment community. The forum provided a platform to explore avenues for bilateral trade, private sector collaboration, and long-term commercial partnerships.

The engagement centred on positioning the Maldives as an attractive and reliable investment destination, with focus areas including tourism diversification, renewable energy, infrastructure development, and climate-resilient projects. The roundtable also reflected growing interest among German enterprises in aligning commercial opportunities with sustainability-driven growth models.

The business engagement forms part of President Muizzu’s official visit to Germany and coincides with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Officials say the roundtable signals a strategic push to deepen economic ties alongside long-standing political relations, reinforcing the Maldives’ efforts to broaden its international investment base and strengthen partnerships with leading global economies.
