President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s recent visit to Kudahuvadhoo Island has been hailed by local council members as a crucial step toward fulfilling the aspirations of the island’s residents. This visit marks the President’s third to the island and underscores his administration’s commitment to regional development.
During a meeting at the Kudahuvadhoo Council Secretariat on Sunday evening, President Muizzu engaged with council members, the Women’s Development Committee, and senior officials from various government institutions. The council expressed unanimous support for the President’s national development vision and emphasized the importance of uninterrupted progress on projects initiated during this visit.
Key appeals from the council included the establishment of an industrial zone, the development of a fish processing facility, and immediate measures to combat coastal erosion. The Women’s Development Committee also extended gratitude to the administration for its ongoing efforts to promote women’s advancement.
In response, President Muizzu assured attendees that the administration is dedicated to addressing the highlighted concerns. He emphasized plans to operationalize urban centers, aligning with his broader strategy for regional development.
Accompanying cabinet members provided updates on current development projects in Kudahuvadhoo, ensuring transparency and fostering community trust.
Earlier in the day, President Muizzu participated in ceremonies marking the commencement of construction for a new hospital building and the groundbreaking for a new branch of the Bank of Maldives. These initiatives are poised to enhance healthcare services and financial accessibility for the island’s inhabitants.
