President Dr Mohamed Muizzu called on the nation to come together to nurture a generation deeply rooted in Islamic values, dedicated to the country, and aware of their responsibilities as Maldivians. He made these comments during the 40th-anniversary celebration of Maafannu Madharusaa on Saturday evening.
In his speech, the President expressed optimism about the country’s future, highlighting that the students’ proposals presented at the event were a sign of this positive outlook. He emphasized that this promising future motivates efforts to shape students’ opportunities.
The President reassured attendees that his Administration would assist the school in achieving its future goals and development plans. Since the school falls under the jurisdiction of the Malé City Council, he mentioned that his Administration would work alongside the Council to provide necessary support.
During the ceremony, two students requested a hall on the ground floor to improve access for elderly individuals. President Dr Muizzu committed to completing this hall by 2025. Furthermore, he promised that next year, there would be a focus on training teachers in special needs education to ensure equal learning opportunities for students with special needs.
At the event, the President also awarded service plaques to long-serving staff members of the school. Maafannu Madharusaa was established on February 15, 1984, originally catering to students from nursery to grade six. It later expanded to include up to grade 10 but now focuses solely on nursery and preschool-aged children.
