Public Servants Are Nation Builders, Says President Muizzu

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has paid tribute to public servants across the Maldives, acknowledging their dedication and impact on national development in a message marking the United Nations Public Service Day.

In his statement, President Muizzu aligned the Maldives with the global community in celebrating the vital contributions of public servants to the advancement of societies around the world. He described them as the “pillars of good governance” and emphasized their central role in realising the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“Public servants are the driving force behind strong institutions and the progress of our nation,” the President stated. “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all civil servants and public institutions in the Maldives for their continued service, commitment, and loyalty to the nation’s growth and welfare.”

Observed annually on June 23, UN Public Service Day recognizes the value and virtue of public service and encourages excellence, transparency, and accountability in governance. It also aims to inspire a new generation to consider careers in public administration.

President Muizzu’s message reaffirms his administration’s broader commitment to public sector reform, enhanced service delivery, and aligning national development with global sustainable targets.
