Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced temporary changes to ferry and bus operations in the Greater Malé region during the month of Ramadan.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the company said adjustments have been made to align services with the daily schedule of the holy month, particularly around sunset hours.

The 24-hour Malé–Vilimale ferry service will be suspended between 5:50 pm and 7:00 pm. The Malé–Thilafushi ferry will not operate from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, while the Malé–Gulhifalhu route will pause services from 4:15 pm to 5:00 pm. Meanwhile, the Hulhumalé–Malé ferry service will conclude its operations for the day after 3:00 pm.

Revisions have also been introduced to RTL bus services. The Malé–Hulhumalé, Hulhumalé–Airport, and Malé–Airport routes will not operate between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm. The Hulhumalé Internal Bus service will be halted from 5:15 pm to 7:15 pm. Additionally, Malé Internal Bus and Vilimale Bus services will be suspended from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

MTCC noted that final departures on each route will be scheduled to conclude before sunset to ensure services are adjusted in line with Ramadan practices.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining reliable and convenient public transport throughout the month, urging passengers to plan their travel in advance in accordance with the revised schedule.
