The agreement, which transfers land ownership to RCC for the construction of modern apartments, was signed by RCC’s Managing Director, Ibrahim Rasheed, and Dh. Kudahuvadhoo Council’s representative, Mohamed Shihaam. The event was graced by RCC Chairman, Retired Colonel Mohamed Nazim, who highlighted the community’s enthusiasm for development and the island’s growing guesthouse industry.
The ‘Maaveyru’ project plans to construct 80 apartments across two blocks, featuring three and four-bedroom units equipped with two elevators per block. Each apartment is priced at MVR 1.5 million and is available for purchase through bank financing. Bookings are now open, and interested buyers can contact RCC for more information.
This initiative is part of a broader plan to develop 160 apartments in Dh. Kudahuvadhoo, an island that houses an airport and is witnessing a surge in guesthouse businesses. The local council views such housing projects as essential to accommodate the island’s growth and development.
The ceremony also saw participation from senior officials of Bank of Ceylon and Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB), indicating strong financial backing for the project.
RCC, established in 1995, has a reputable history of undertaking large-scale construction projects across the Maldives, including residential buildings, schools, and infrastructure developments. The ‘Maaveyru’ project underscores RCC’s commitment to fostering community development and addressing the housing needs of the Maldivian population.
