STELCO Engineers Working Swiftly to Restore Power in Affected Areas of Malé and Hulhumalé

A technical fault disrupted electricity in parts of Malé and Hulhumalé today, the State Electric Company (STELCO) has confirmed.

The company said engineering teams were immediately deployed to isolate the problem and begin phased restoration of supply. STELCO assured that essential services remain a priority and urged the public to follow official updates for the latest information.

While apologising for the inconvenience, STELCO noted that such faults are addressed with rapid, systematic repairs to safeguard the grid and ensure a stable return of service. The utility has reiterated its commitment to strengthening infrastructure to minimise future disruptions.
