STELCO Launches In‑House Trainers Pool with 35 Certified Staff

By Ahmed Ashraf Published 16 hours ago

State Electric Company Ltd (STELCO) has officially unveiled its inaugural In‑House Trainers Pool, empowering internal staff to spearhead capacity building across the organisation. The launch, presided over by Managing Director Hussain Fahmy, also saw the presentation of STELCO’s Certified Trainer licences to the designated employees.

The Trainers Pool initiative reflects STELCO’s strategy to deploy its employees’ expertise—leveraging their knowledge, technical skills, and institutional experience—to deliver training tailored to internal needs. This approach aims to precisely identify and address skill gaps, enhancing operational efficiency and professional development.

Thirty‑five staff members from diverse disciplines—including engineering, technical operations, human resources, security, media, and public relations—have completed the internationally recognised “Train the Trainer” programme, becoming certified facilitators authorised to conduct internal training sessions.

During the ceremony, STELCO also unveiled a comprehensive Trainers Pool handbook, outlining the scope and structure of forthcoming training modules. The company reaffirmed its commitment to expanding the training cohort, with plans to certify additional employees to international standards.

The initiative builds on STELCO’s broader development efforts, such as the recently announced Mechanical Training Centre in Thulusdhoo, further underscoring the utility’s emphasis on homegrown talent and sustainable capacity building.

By institutionalising internal training, STELCO positions itself to reduce dependency on external facilitators, streamline knowledge transfer, and reinforce professional growth among its workforce. These efforts are expected to yield long‑term benefits for service delivery, operational resilience, and sector leadership.
