Prominent Maldivian businessman Champa Mohamed Moosa, widely known as Uhchu, has publicly endorsed Moosa Ali Jaleel in the race for Mayor of Malé City, adding further backing to the candidate ahead of the upcoming local elections.
The endorsement was made during a meeting held at Uhchu’s residence, Champagiri, where Jaleel paid a visit earlier today. During the meeting, Uhchu confirmed his support for Jaleel’s candidacy and indicated that he would actively work to help secure votes for him in the election.
Speaking at the gathering, Uhchu described Jaleel as a candidate with a distinguished record of national service, stating that among those contesting the mayoral race, he stands out for his experience and contributions to the country. He highlighted Jaleel’s military background, noting his courage and leadership during his service.
Uhchu also emphasized the importance of placing individuals with proven integrity and dedication in positions of responsibility, adding that he values leaders who have demonstrated trustworthiness in serving the nation.
In response, Jaleel expressed appreciation for the endorsement, thanking Uhchu for both the invitation and the support extended to his campaign.
