The Bank of Maldives (BML) has reached another historic milestone in its mission to enhance financial inclusion across the nation, with the official inauguration of ATM services in AA. Maalhos under the “Mulhi Raajje ah BML ATM” program.
The ceremony, graced by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, Cabinet Ministers, BML Chairperson Ahmed Ali Habeeb, CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef, along with the Bank’s Board of Directors and senior officials, marked the achievement of full ATM coverage in every inhabited island of Alifu Alifu Atoll.
Speaking at the event, BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef highlighted the significance of the achievement:
“Today, with the completion of AA. Atoll, we proudly celebrate the provision of ATM services in all inhabited islands of eight atolls under our ‘Mulhi Raajje ah BML ATM’ initiative. This reflects our unwavering commitment to ensuring financial accessibility for every community in the Maldives, and we remain determined to complete the project across the entire nation this year”.
As the country’s largest and most trusted financial institution, BML continues to expand its reach with 41 branches across all 20 atolls, 144 Self Service Banking Centres, 200 ATMs, a wide Agent Banking network, and state-of-the-art Digital Banking services.
The Muizzu administration has prioritized nationwide financial inclusion as part of its broader development agenda, with BML’s ambitious initiative serving as a cornerstone in empowering island communities and strengthening the national economy.
