Speaking at the graduation ceremony of the 40th Police Basic Training Course in Dh. Vaani, Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusaan underscored President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s efforts to strengthen and modernize the Maldives Police Service.
The Minister highlighted the government’s ongoing project to fully establish and operationalize police services on every inhabited island before the end of this year, describing it as a transformative step in bringing law enforcement closer to the people. “A major project to properly establish the necessary infrastructure for the Maldives Police is currently underway. Commitments have already been made to over a hundred islands, and work has begun at various stages” Ihusaan said.
Addressing the graduating officers, the Minister emphasized that President Muizzu’s vision is to ensure police are equipped to provide the highest standard of service to the Maldivian people. He reminded the new officers that their powers and privileges come with profound responsibility:
“We are all Maldivian citizens, entrusted with special powers from among the people. Recognizing that we serve our fellow citizens, it is the government’s wish that you deliver this service sincerely, with professionalism and friendliness — always with a smile”
