President Dr Mohamed Muizzu today witnessed the signing of eleven major Memoranda of Understanding and Agreements between the Maldives and the People’s Republic of China, marking a historic milestone in the deepening partnership between the two nations.
The signing ceremony, held at the Wangfujing Hilton Hotel in Beijing, formalized wide-ranging cooperation across critical sectors including capacity building, infrastructure development, renewable energy, and economic growth. These agreements reflect the shared vision of both countries to accelerate sustainable development and expand mutually beneficial opportunities for the Maldivian people.
President Muizzu’s presence at the ceremony underscored his administration’s strong commitment to forging global partnerships that deliver tangible progress. The President is currently in China on an official visit at the invitation of President Xi Jinping, where he is also participating in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit.
