Two decades of dedication: DMD Muzna appointed to STELCO board of directors

By Ahmed Ashraf Published September 10, 2025

The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) has appointed Deputy Managing Director Aishath Muzna to the Board of Directors of the State Electric Company Limited (STELCO), recognizing her remarkable two decades of service and leadership within the company.

Muzna, of M. Dawnshine / Malé, began her career at STELCO in 2000 and has since risen through the ranks, holding senior positions across multiple departments. Her expertise in corporate management and operational strategy has been central to STELCO’s growth and modernization over the years. In recognition of her achievements, she was elevated to the post of Deputy Managing Director on November 28, 2023.

Her appointment to the Board by PCB is seen as both a celebration of her dedication and a commitment by the government to ensure that capable, homegrown professionals who have proven their expertise are entrusted with key leadership roles.

Colleagues describe Muzna as a visionary leader with hands-on experience, someone who understands the challenges of the energy sector at every level. Her presence on the Board is expected to further strengthen STELCO’s mission to provide reliable, sustainable, and affordable power to the Maldivian people.

STELCO emphasized that this change reflects its broader vision of building an organization led by experienced, committed, and capable Maldivian leaders. With Muzna now serving on the Board, expectations are high for further innovation and efficiency in delivering electricity services nationwide.

This milestone marks a new chapter in Muzna’s career — a story of commitment, resilience, and leadership that continues to inspire women and professionals across the Maldives.
