The President’s attendance underscores the Maldives’ steadfast solidarity with Qatar and highlights its principled position on regional and global issues. His participation reflects the Maldives’ long-standing call for urgent, coordinated international action to halt the ongoing violence and atrocities committed by Israel against the Palestinian people.

In recent months, President Muizzu has consistently stressed the need for unity among Muslim nations to stand firm against aggression and to collectively amplify the voice of justice for Palestine. At the Summit, he is expected to engage in high-level discussions aimed at pushing for decisive measures to end hostilities, protect innocent civilians, and uphold international humanitarian law.

The Maldives has historically taken a strong moral stance in defending the rights of Palestinians, both in the United Nations and in other international forums. Under President Muizzu’s leadership, this position has been further strengthened, with the government reaffirming that peace in the Middle East cannot be achieved without ensuring the legitimate right of Palestinians to an independent state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

As a consistent advocate for justice and human dignity, President Muizzu has made Palestine a central pillar of his foreign policy agenda. His advocacy resonates with the Maldivian people, who have long expressed unwavering support for the Palestinian struggle. By standing firm at the Emergency Summit, President Muizzu not only represents the voice of the Maldives but also reinforces the collective determination of the Islamic world to demand lasting peace and the restoration of Palestine’s inalienable rights.
