President Muizzu Honors Teachers as Pillars of the Nation’s Future

By Ahmed Ashraf Published October 5, 2025

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has paid heartfelt tribute to teachers across the Maldives, describing their service as one of the most dignified and noble callings — a contribution that brings rewards both in this life and the hereafter.

In a special message shared on social media to mark Teachers’ Day, President Muizzu underscored the irreplaceable role educators play in shaping the nation’s destiny. He noted that the children sitting in classrooms today — nurtured by the care, guidance, and dedication of teachers — will become the generation that upholds the Maldivian flag with pride, courage, and determination tomorrow.

“The greatest role and power in securing a bright future for the Maldives lies in the hands of teachers” the President affirmed, emphasizing that their influence extends far beyond textbooks and classrooms, touching every corner of national development.

President Muizzu assured that his administration is giving special attention to improving the welfare and professional growth of all educators working within the Maldivian education system. “While assuring the government’s commitment to the progress and ease of all teachers, I extend greetings of this joyous day to every educator,” he stated, concluding with prayers for the happiness and well-being of teachers and their families.

As the Maldives continues its journey toward a knowledge-based economy, the President’s message serves as a powerful reminder of the pivotal role teachers play — not only as transmitters of knowledge but as builders of the nation’s moral, intellectual, and civic foundation.
