The Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR) 2025—the nation’s largest and only international road race—is gearing up for a massive turnout this Friday, 24 October, at Hulhumalé Central Park. With over 4,500 participants expected from both local and international communities, this year’s event promises to be the most vibrant and impactful edition yet.
Recognised on the global stage, DMRR holds a coveted spot on the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) World Running calendar and features a World Athletics-certified route—making it the only race of its kind in the Maldives.
Race Categories and Timings
The race will feature three categories:
- Half Marathon — starting at 02:30hrs
- 10K Race — starting at 05:30hrs
- 5K Race — starting at 16:30hrs
Beyond the competitive spirit, Dhiraagu has lined up a host of engaging activities for runners and spectators alike. Participants can enjoy a variety of food stalls, live entertainment, and a surprise activation along the 5K route, turning the event into a community celebration of wellness, fitness, and fun.
Championing Child Protection
True to its long-standing tradition, DMRR 2025 will continue its social mission by focusing on child protection. This year’s event provides a powerful platform for NGOs to advocate for children’s rights and fundraise for vital projects.
Dhiraagu has pledged MVR 200,000 to the top five endorsed NGOs nominated by participants during registration. Additionally, MVR 100 from each runner’s registration fee and 100% of proceeds from special bib number sales will be equally distributed among these partner organisations—reinforcing the event’s deeper purpose beyond the finish line.

Dhiraagu will continue sharing live updates, runner stories, and behind-the-scenes glimpses across its social media platforms. For event details and race-day logistics, participants and fans can visit the official DMRR website at www.dmrr.mv.
This Friday, DMRR 2025 won’t just mark a race—it will stand as a national movement uniting thousands under the shared banners of health, community, and advocacy.
