Investigation underway after couple found dead in Addu City home

By Ahmed Ashraf Published October 22, 2025

A shocking incident has been reported in Addu City after two people, believed to be a married couple, were found dead inside a residence known as Crane House, located near the tourism zone of Hithadhoo.

According to initial reports, the bodies were discovered on Wednesday afternoon. The Maldives Police Service confirmed that the case had been reported and that an investigation is currently underway. Medical authorities at Addu Equatorial Hospital have since confirmed the deaths.

Family members of the deceased have identified the couple and verified their passing. While police have yet to disclose further details, sources indicate that the couple lived in Crane House, situated close to the tourism development area of Hithadhoo — a zone that has recently seen an increase in both residential and commercial activity.
