BML CEO Hands Over USD 25K as Contributions Reach MVR 1.7 Million and USD 37K

By Ahmed Ashraf Published 12 hours ago

Bank of Maldives has contributed USD 25,000 to the “Maldivians with Ceylon” telethon, giving a significant boost to the nationwide effort to support flood hit Sri Lanka. The contribution was formally handed over to Public Service Media by BML CEO and MD Mohamed Shareef.

With this latest donation, total collections have climbed to MVR 1,676,007.60 and USD 37,874.00. Both MVR and USD accounts remain open for ongoing public contributions.

BML’s donation stands among the strongest corporate contributions so far and reflects the bank’s continued commitment to humanitarian support. As Sri Lanka battles severe flooding, widespread damage, and displacement caused by storm Dithuvaa, the Maldives collective response continues to grow.

The telethon team urges the public to keep contributing through cash donations, QR scan payments, cheques, transfers, and collection boxes placed across Malé, Hulhumalé, and Villimalé.
