STO Group Donates MVR 250K as Sri Lanka Telethon Holds Strong Above MVR 3.2 Million

By Ahmed Ashraf Published 5 hours ago

The STO group of companies, including STO, Allied Insurance, Fuel Supplies Maldives, MaldiveGas and Maldive Shipping Services, has jointly donated MVR 250,000 to the “Maldivians for Ceylon” telethon. The contribution was handed over to the telethon team by staff from across the STO group.

Following this collective donation, total funds raised have reached MVR 3,244,062.91 and USD 38,531.93. Both accounts remain open for continued contributions from the public and corporates as the nationwide relief effort continues.

The STO group’s contribution adds significant strength to the growing national response aimed at supporting Sri Lanka as the country faces severe flooding, widespread damage and displacement linked to storm Dithuvaa. The telethon has received broad support from state owned enterprises, private companies and citizens across the Maldives.

Organisers continue to encourage donations through QR scan payments, cash, cheques, bank transfers and collection boxes placed in Malé, Hulhumalé and Villimalé.
