STELCO Donates MVR 250K as Sri Lanka Telethon Climbs to MVR 3.29 Million

By Ahmed Ashraf Published 5 hours ago

State Electric Company has contributed MVR 250,000 to the “Maldivians for Ceylon” telethon, further strengthening the nationwide humanitarian effort supporting Sri Lanka as the country faces severe flooding and destruction linked to storm Ditwah. The donation was handed over to the telethon team by STELCO staff.

With this latest contribution, total funds raised have now reached MVR 3,294,062.91 and USD 38,531.93. Both accounts remain open for continued public and corporate donations as the telethon gains national momentum.

STELCO’s contribution adds to the growing list of state owned enterprises, private companies and individual donors who have stepped forward to help Sri Lankan families struggling with displacement, loss and urgent humanitarian needs.
