Visit Maldives Corporation has contributed MVR 30,000 to the “Maldivians for Ceylon” telethon, adding further momentum to the nationwide humanitarian drive assisting Sri Lanka as the country endures severe flooding and destruction linked to storm Ditwah.
The donation was officially handed over by VMC Managing Director Ibrahim Shiuree to PSM Deputy Managing Director Abdulla Yamin Rasheed. The contribution reflects VMC’s continued commitment to supporting regional communities during crises.
With VMC’s support, total telethon collections have reached MVR 3,294,062.91 and USD 38,531.93. The telethon remains open for additional donations in both currencies as organisers continue to encourage public and corporate participation.
Members of the public can donate through QR scan payments, bank transfers, cash, cheques and collection boxes placed across Malé, Hulhumalé and Villimalé.
